About Luther Park Bible Camp

Luther Park Bible Camp is a special outdoor ministry affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) located in the beautiful Northwoods town of Chetek, Wisconsin. Founded in 1932, Luther Park's Lakeside site sits on 10 acres along Prairie Lake. This site acts as the primary location for most of the happenings for the organization, from Fall, Winter, and Spring retreats, gatherings, events, weddings, and much more, to our three month summer camp program. With 15 buildings that include a Dining Hall, a Seasonal Chapel, four Retreat Facilities, Indoor Worship Space, eight Cabins, and our offices, we pride ourselves in the Northwoods feel our facilities offer. On the shores Prairie Lake, a premiere boating and fishing lake, we also have a beautiful pool for the warm summer months, a high & low ropes course, archery, and a nine-hole disc golf course.

LPBC also owns two other sites, making it three places where people are able to be outside enjoying God's creation. The Farm Center, a historic farm across the street from our Lakeside site, is 74 acres of land that is home to our high & low ropes course, archery, disc golf, our garden, chickens, and goats. Onsite is also a barn, environmental education center, hiking trails, platform tents, and open fields to play in. The third site, is Luther Woods, 320 acres of untouched paradise 35 minutes North of Prairie Lake in Birchwood, Wisconsin. Luther Woods has an A-frame cabin, a covered pavilion, the gorgeous Bodins Lake for recreation, and many Northwoods hiking trails. The woods are home to our primitive camping program, where campers can go out and be one with nature, giving witness to their place amongst creation.

Luther Park is an organization inclusive of all, and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, caste, creed, sex, age, marital status, national origin, mental or physical ability, political belief or affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.

Started with Luther Park Bible Camp (LPBC): I started at Luther Park in February of 2022 as the Associate Program Director, and wore a whole lot of different hats as we went through some major staffing changes during that year. In 2024 I moved into my current role, Program and Office Administrator.

In my role:I get to manage retreat planning and communication, camp registration, and other office manager duties such as managing the calendar, processing donations, and ordering supplies. If you call the office or contact the information email, odds are you’ll get to speak with me! I enjoy being the first line of communication with Luther Park, and helping everyone have the most successful time at camp that we can provide.

Geeks out over: I geek out over board games, crossword puzzles, songs with interesting time signatures, and competition reality shows

When its not summer: Outside of summer I like live music, horror books (but not movies!), playing guitar, and watching football- especially if it’s the Green Bay Packers

Started with Luther Park Bible Camp (LPBC): On May 22nd, 2023, only one week before staff training! Crazy time to begin at camp, but also as I keep saying, there is no better time to see how everything works at a new camp.

In my role: as the Executive Director, I oversee all the operations, programs, development, administration, and probably more at Luther Park. It is an absolute honor to be at the helm of an outdoor ministry site with such a beautiful and storied history. It is also such a joy to get to work with an amazing staff, board of directors, and many volunteers and supporters of Luther Park!

Geeks out over: coffee, the Milwaukee Brewers, college basketball, board games, the two best bands of all-time The Replacements and Pavement, smoking meat, movies, Italian subs, fantasy/sci-fi novels, and oh so much more.

When its not summer: I enjoy spending time with my wife, Allison, reading theology and fantasy books, exploring new restaurants, watching the Packers, Bucks, Wisconsin sports, doing fantasy sports, seeing live music, and visiting family.
