A-Frame Capacity: 8 (Rustic)
The 3-season A-Frame at Luther Woods, near Birchwood, WI (N2595 Outpost Dr), offers a rustic experience in the northwoods of Wisconsin. It is surrounded by 320 acres of wilderness and a private swimming/fishing lake. The southern exposure of the A-frame has a partial view of the lake.
Enjoy a wood stove for heat and an outdoor campfire pit for evening campfires or for cooking. Don’t tease yourself with reviews of the comparison of Weber Q2200 and Q3200 BBQs before coming here, it’s truly rustic so you won’t be using anything like that to cook. With no running water and no modern bathroom, you’ll want to come prepared with your own food and drinking water for your stay (there is a very primitive old wooden outhouse year-round, and portable outhouses — serviced weekly — during the summer months).
There is a pump for running water in the summer. During the summer there is also a swimming raft on Bodins Lake, and canoes. The A-frame has rustic bunk beds with mattresses for sleeping accommodations. We recommend you bring your own Coleman stove to cook on. Depending on recent precipitation, you may not be able to drive all the way up to the door, in which case you can enjoy about a 1/2 mile walk from the private drive.
Luther Woods is surrounded by additional County Forest wilderness, and offers endless trails for hiking and exploration! For more information, and to make reservations, contact info@LutherPark.org or by calling Luther Park at 715-859-2215.
Luther Woods Summer Group Rental:
In addition to the A-frame, during the summer months, there are also 6 canvas platform tents (with rustic bunk beds and mattresses), as well as rented porta potties (serviced weekly). Each tent sleeps about 8. During the summer, Luther Woods is available for rent when it is not being used by Luther Park’s summer programs. Luther Woods is a perfect place to hold your own rustic youth group retreat, family reunion, or inter-generational church summer camp programming! Either you can provide all of your own programming, or Luther Park can provide counselors to lead Bible Studies, games, crafts, etc.
During the summer there is a swimming raft on Bodins Lake, as well as canoes, paddles and life jackets. Luther Woods also boasts endless trails for hiking and exploration! The Woods are surrounded by additional County Forest wilderness, which offer even more opportunity for exploration.
Luther Woods has a storm shelter, a large picnic shelter/pavilion with covered fire pits, and an open rec-field with a large group fire pit.
