Introductions

Executive Director Eric Klein

We are excited to announce that Eric Klein has been selected as the next Executive Director of
Luther Park Bible Camp! Eric is very passionate about the impact ELCA Outdoor Ministries
have on people of all generations, along with the partnership these camps have with ELCA
congregations. He is currently serving on the planning team for the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries
Annual Conference in November 2023. We are excited that Eric has accepted our call to
become part of our team and lead Luther Park into the future!

An introduction from Eric:
Greetings! I am ecstatic to be called to serve as Executive Director at Luther Park! For the past
year and a half I have been serving Camp Wapo as Program Director, part of Lake Wapogasset
Lutheran Bible Camp Inc. in Amery, WI. While there, I have had the absolute pleasure of
working alongside an outstanding year-round staff as well as 70+ summer staff who help to
facilitate and run summer and year-round programs for ELCA churches all over the
Minneapolis-St Paul Metro.
I have served in several roles across various ELCA ministries, most recently as Director of
Children, Youth and Family Ministry at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church in South Minneapolis,
and Director of Youth and Family Ministry at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Iowa City, IA.
My ELCA outdoor ministry stops include the Director of Retreat & Day Camp Ministries at Sugar
Creek Bible Camp, as well as summer staff at Ewalu Camp & Retreat Center and Pine Lake
Camp. I also have held positions at two different YMCA Camps near Milwaukee, WI.
I am a proud graduate of Luther College, and I am currently working towards a Master of Arts in
Leadership and Innovation in Ministry, on a Diaconal Rostered Track, at Luther Seminary in St.
Paul, MN. I am originally from the Milwaukee area, and am an enthusiastic Wisconsin sports
fan. I also love playing board games, solving the world’s problems over a cup of black coffee,
and most importantly advocating for the role of young people in the church today.
I am married to Allison, my spouse of almost three years, who serves as the Director of Teen &
Young Adult Ministries at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls, WI. We are both active on the
board for Journey House Campus Ministry at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and share
a deep passion for the ELCA and its ministries. Allison is an impressive minister in her own
right, with passions working with youth and young adults, older adults, as well as preaching and
teaching the gospel. We are pumped to be a part of the future of Luther Park!

Property Manager Bill Reed

We are very excited to welcome Bill Reed as the new full-time, year-round, Property Manager at
Luther Park! Bill began on April 17th and will shadow Property Manager Dave Dobbs until Dave
retires on June 1st. Bill holds an Associate Degree in Electromechanical Technology from Chippewa Valley
Technical College, along with a Technical Diploma in Industrial Mechanic from Chippewa
Valley Technical College. Bill has extensive maintenance experience in a variety of settings.
Bill’s background includes electrical, mechanical, construction, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC
system support. Bill has experience in project management and working with contractors. Bill
most recently served as a Facility Specialist at a corporate facility in Eau Claire. Bill and his wife Robin have three adult children and two beautiful granddaughters. He enjoys fishing, four wheeling, taking walks with their two Golden Retrievers and family gatherings. Family is central to who he is. One of his favorite sayings is, “GOD is First, FAMILY is second and everything else is gravy!” In his spare time Bill enjoys spending time at the family cottage on Lower Long Lake in New Auburn and spoiling his granddaughters. We are excited to have Bill as part of our team!
